Our vision with Hawthorne was to ‘let nature in’. To master plan a community around a natural habitat, preserving and integrating its features into the surrounding neighbourhood. Framed by the majestic backdrop of Mt. Benson, Hawthorne has been carefully sited next to Buttertubs Marsh, a 78 acre nature and bird sanctuary that will remain protected for life. Environmental consultants helped us minimize our impact and protect the area’s ecosystem. The result: a livable community that benefits us all.Another goal was to make Hawthorne more ‘traditional’ in style. Generous lots. Treed boulevards. Homes with porches. Wide sidewalks. Landscaping and neighbourhood pathways that promote walking and meeting your neighbours. Also Hawthorne Corner, the village centre with shops and services, will be THE place to be to hang out and enjoy a coffee.
Most of all, we wanted to make Hawthorne affordable. All the elements have combined to create a community where people feel they belong.
