Being a good neighbour is at the heart of our business philosophy. Nurturing our island community and preserving its breathtaking beauty are values that guide us at every stage of development.Our company, InSight Developments, began in 1993 with the popular and successful multi-phase lifestyle community, Longwood. It – and our company – grew steadily, winning many awards for our designs and craftsmanship. By the end of 2010, we’d built and sold 305 homes in six buildings in Longwood. Two final buildings are currently in planning stages to complete this award-winning development. We also developed Longwood Station next door, with its shops, services and popular Brew Pub.
From Longwood, we branched out into creating other types of communities for a wide range of lifestyles: Hawthorne, Hawthorne Corner and soon SeaWalk, a stunning high rise tower overlooking Nanaimo harbour. To date, we have developed over $350 million in real estate throughout the Nanaimo region.
We carefully consider the impact on the environment and the people that make Vancouver Island great. In the spirit of true community partnership, we hire locally and use local businesses wherever possible. We expend the extra effort to preserve our natural surroundings and work with bordering neighbourhoods to develop livable communities that benefit us all.
